One died and five others were injured when a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw collided head on with a human hauler in Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Bisakha Rani, 55, hailing from Shahrasti upazila of the district. Two of the injured were her family members: daughter Basanti Rani, 20, and husband Abdul Mannan, 55.
The others who were injured could not be identified in initial reports. They were taken to Chandpur Upazilla Health Complex.
The accident took place near Bolakhal Bazar in the town around 5pm, Sadar police Sub Inspector Abdul Mannan said.
The human hawler and the CNG auto-rickshaw were seized and kept under police custody. Preparations were on to file a case over the incident.
