A prisoner has died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) while undergoing treatment at 11:10 am on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Safin Ahmed Tamal, 33, hailed from Khalpara village of Dohar, Dhaka.
In-charge of DMCH hospital police outpost and Inspector Md. Faruk confirmed it to Dhaka Tribune and stated that the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for a postmortem examination.
However, police could not immediately provide details regarding the case in which Tamal was detained. Jail authorities said further information would be released later.
