FFPB SELECTS for Gameweek 4

Update : 13 Sep 2013, 02:15 PM

Saturday comes as a welcome relief for Fantasy Premier League managers who had been frustrated at the lack of fantasy actions over the last two weeks due to the international break. Quamrul Hassan, the founder of Fantasy Football Players of Bangladesh who won the $2500 ESPN STAR SPORTS Knockout Cup, shares his suggestions for the Gameweek 4.

Boruc: The Southampton custodian keeps his place in our FFPB Selects again as the Saints host a goal-shy West Ham team who are yet to see a striker open the account.

Evra: The Frenchman’s run down the left flank is a bonus for his owners as he looks the most likely option among the Red Devils back four to produce a goal or assist. It’s a home game and Crystal Palace certainly are not the best of the attacking teams.

Walker: Archrivals Arsenal broke Spurs’ clean sheet streak last time out, but Norwich strikers have not been prolific away. Safe bet to rack up some bonus points, too.

Riether: Fulham entertain a Baggies team that are yet to register a goal this season, but what makes Riether’s prospects more enticing is his propensity to pick up bonus points.

Walcott: Arsenal visit Paolo Di Canio’s Sunderland at a time when the hosts are reeling under pressure and the England man looks certain to benefit from the arrival of Mesut Ozil and the absence of Lukas Podolski.

Fellaini: The Belgian is reunited with former boss David Moyes at the Old Trafford and is expected to pull the strings just behind the United frontline. The midfielder could not have been offered a kinder fixture than this week’s match against Crystal Palace at the Theatre of Dreams.

Hazard: Another Belgian in the mix as his owners wait for the promising midfielder to reproduce his last season’s bandwagon. Chelsea will be travelling to Everton, but Jose Mourinho’s men won’t find it intimidating.

Lamela: The Argentine scored 15 and made another five from the midfield in the Serie A last season, so he looks firm favorites to steal the show on his debut against a Norwich team that have not been the best on the roads.

Van Persie: The Dutchman is probably the first man to be on everyone’s team sheet, partly because it’s a home game against Crystal Palace and partly because of his form in the Netherlands colors during the international break. His owners had endured three frustrating gameweeks, but this is a match you expect a player of his caliber to make up for those days.

Soldado: Critics point it out that the Spanish forward is yet to score from open play, but that’s certain to change with the arrival of the likes of Eriksen and Lamela. And who does not know that it’s good if you have a player who is his club’s main striker with penalty duties in his locker.

Benteke: The powerful forward scored a brace against Arsenal, which was followed by another striker against Chelsea. He failed to find the net against Liverpool, but a home game against Newcastle can very well prove that it was just a bad day at office in GW3.

Bench: Stockdale, Brady, Okore, Curtis Davies
