He said the meeting decided to elevate the Naldanga police station under Natore sadar upazila to the status of an independent upazila having a municipality and five union parishads within its periphery. The total population of the new upazila will be 129,304.

A total of 40 new posts have been created to operate the activities of the new police stations.
Nicar also decided to establish three new police stations in Khulna metropolis – Laban Chora, Aranghata, and a new one in Khulna University area, the name of which was yet to be finalised. The authorities concerned will finalise it in consultation with local public representatives.
