Regency Hospitality Training Institute (RHTI) has started its journey for expediting the development of the hospitality sector through trained manpower.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon yesterday formally inaugurated this new venture of Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resorts at Dhaka Regency hotel in the city Inaugurating the RHTI, Rashed Khan Menon said this institute would be able fulfil its goal utilising their resources.
“Visit Bangladesh 2016 will continue in the next couple of years tap foreign tourists. Regency Hospitality Training Institute will play a vital role to train skilled manpower, which will be helpful for our industry,” said the minister.
He said: “It’s obvious that tourism industry in our country is creating a tremendous opportunities as a fast growing economic sector in terms of foreign direct investment and earning foreign currencies through the establishment of hospitality, leisure and entertainments.”
Shahid Hamid, chief advisor of Regency Hospitality, Prof. Peter A Jones, dean of e-Hotelier Academy of UK, Arif Motahar, owner of Dhaka Regency Hotel also spoke on this occasion.
Shahid Hamid said: “There are over 15 lakh jobs in the South East Asia, Middle East and in Europe are vacant in hospitality sector in the globe while 15,000 trained manpower is required in local industry.”
