Narayanganj Police Super Khandakar Mohiduddin has said progress in the investigation into the murder of five people in the district is satisfactory.
He made the remarks while talking to journalists on Monday afternoon.
"We are satisfied with the progress made so far in the 5-murder investigation. However, we can not disclose about the progress now," said the SP.
A competent source of police said the information found after quizzing the detainees would be useful for the investigation. They are carrying forward the probe putting emphasis on money dealings and family feud.
Besides, the five-murder case was shifted to the Detective Branch (DB) of Police on Sunday night.
Police on Saturday night recovered the bodies of five members of a family in a house in the Baburail area of Narayanganj sadar upazila. The dead are Taslima, 35, her daughter Sumaiya, 7, son Shanto, 10, brother Morshedul Islam, 20, and sister-in-law Lamia, 20.
Murdered Taslima's husband Shafiqul Islam filed a case with Sadar police station on Sunday morning.
