The Akheri Munajat of the second phase of Bishwa Ijtema began on the bank of river Turag in Tongi, on the outskirts of Dhaka city, seeking spiritual blessing and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
The prayer began around 11am Sunday. Maulana Saad Ahmed of Delhi is conducting the Akheri Munajat.
Devotees from 16 districts joined the second phase while organisers estimate that some 2-2.5 million people are present in the Akheri Munajat.
Traffic movement has been prohibited in and around Ijtema venue for the Akheri Munajat since early Sunday. The restriction will be in force till evening.
