Pointing at the rejection of review plea of war crimes convicts Salauddin Quader Chowhdury and Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujahid, Attorney General (AG) Mahbube Alam has said there is no barrier to the execution of death verdicts and it may take place in a matter of time.
“Mujahid is the only man who has been awarded with the death penalty for the massacre on the intellectuals at the last phase of the 1971 Liberation War. The countrymen and the prosecution are happy at both verdicts. Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha told me getting the rejection copy of review plea is not mandatory to implement the execution,” AG Mahbube Alam said.
