At least three high police officials are going to visit the KSA soon to complete the extradition of Kamrul Islam, main accused in the sensational Rajon murder case.

The assigned officials for the task are police headquarters Additional Superintendent of Police Mahbubul Karim, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police AFM Nizam Uddin and Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (media) Rahmat Ullah.

When asked, Rahmat Ullah acknowledged it to the Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday and said they had received necessary direction from the police headquarters for bringing Kamrul back home.

Their departure time for the KSA would be fixed within one or two days while the extradition will be completed in assistance with Interpol and Saudi police, Rahmat Ullah went on.

On July 8, 13-year-old boy Samiul Alam Rajon was beaten to death in Sylhet’s Kumargaon by some men who falsely accused him of stealing a rickshaw van.

One of the killers recorded the incident on mobile phone and later uploaded on Facebook.

The video soon spread on social media platforms, triggering massive outrage among the public.

The 28-minute video shows the victim tied to a pole in front of a workshop in the still-closed Sultan Ali Market, beside the Dhaka-Sunamganj road.

Later, a case was registered in this connection against 13 people, including Kamrul, who is a Saudi immigrant.

Kamrul was detained by some Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia and handed over him to the local police. Meanwhile, a district court has already accepted charges against the accused and issued arrest warrants against the fugitives in the lawsuit.
