Latif Siddique to step down

Sacked minister Abdul Latif Siddique has declared to resign from his parliamentary post.

He made the remarks after attending the hearing of Election Commission (EC) over the legitimacy of his parliament membership on Sunday morning.

3 RAB officials sued over BCL leader Arju's killing

A case has been filed against four people including three RAB officials on charge of abduction and killing of Chhatra League's Hazaribagh unit president Arju Mia.

Victim's brother Md Masud Rana filed the petition case with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan's court on Sunday afternoon.

2 deer, 200kg venison seized in Barguna

Bangladesh Coast Guard members have seized two deer, 200kg of venison and a trawler carrying them from Bodurtola area under Patharghata upazila in Barguna.

No one was detained in the drive conducted early Sunday.

Over 50 people killed in Syrian missile strikes

At least 50 bodies were retrieved from buildings leveled to the ground after Syrian army missiles hit residential areas in the rebel-held northeast of Damascus on Saturday, rescue workers said.

They said more bodies were believed to be under the rubble of buildings occupied by dozens of families in the city of Douma, about 15 km (10 miles) northeast of Damascus, with dozens of victims taken to field hospitals, many seriously wounded.

Thousands of migrants rush past police into Macedonia

Thousands of rain-soaked migrants on Saturday rushed past Macedonian riot police who were attempting to block them from entering Macedonia from Greece. Police fired stun grenades and dozens of people were injured in the border clashes.

By the end of the day, every one got across, including several hundred migrants, mostly elderly and children, who had remained on the Greek side of the border. Thousands then boarded trains and buses that took them up north to the border with Serbia from where they will attempt to enter European Union-member Hungary.
