Different foreign missions of Bangladesh have observed the National Mourning Day with due solemnity yesterday.
Bangladesh embassy in Warsaw hosted a programme to pay homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his 15 family members who had been assassinated on August 15, 1975.
The programme includes hoisting national flag half mast, discussions, special prayer and a film show on Bangabandhu’s works, says a press release.
The messages from President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohammad Shahriar Alam were read out at the beginning of the discussions.
Ambassador Mahfuzur Rahman mentioned the success and achievements of the present government and urged everyone to work in a unison to make Bangabandhu’s dreams a reality.
Besides, Bangladesh Embassy in Bangkok observed the day with utmost respect through at first hoisting the national flag half-mast by ambassador Saida Muna Tasneem.
Expatriate Bangladeshis living in Thailand attended a Milad Mahfil followed by a special prayer.
Bangladesh embassy in Tashkent organised a discussion and Dua and Munajat at the Chancery premises, where the speakers cautioned that the anti-liberation forces are still active to mar the progress and achievement of the state.
