Bangabandhu's statue set up at Mother's Wax Museum

A wax statue of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been put on display at Kolkata's and India's lone wax museum, Mother's Wax Museum.

The secretary, ministry of information of the Bangladesh government, Mortuza Ahmed, participated in the unveiling of the statue on Saturday, reports BSS.

Mortuza was invited by the chairman of West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd Debashish Sen.

The statue was set up on August 14, 2015, a day before India's Independence Day.

The museum was set up last year (2014) in the new township located north-east of Salt Lake City.

The museum is modeled after London's Mother Tussaud's Wax Museum and houses prominent personalities like Rabindranath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Param Hansa Dev, et al. Now Bangladesh's Founding Father has also found a place there.
