A girl has allegedly been gang raped by two youths in a hotel in the capital’s Moghbazar area on Friday night.
The 18-year-old girl was admitted to one stop crisis centre of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday afternoon.
Police were yet to arrest the youths- Shawon and Niloy- who allegedly raped her and locate the place of occurrence.
The girl completed Higher Secondary Examination from Jamalpur and came to Dhaka for university admission coaching.
She was living in a mess at Mauchak of Moghbazar in Dhaka.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner for media and public relations Muntasirul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune that Shawon, a friend of the girl asked her to meet him at Moghbazar for coaching materials on Friday afternoon.
When she went there, Shawon took her to a room of a hotel where his friend Niloy was already waiting. They forcibly raped her there.
The girl informed the matter to her parents who, later, came to Dhaka and complained the matter at Ramna police station.
Police sent the victim to OCC of DMCH for medical tests.
Shawon was a student of BBA at Tejgaon Government College, said police quoting the victim.
Muntasirul said victim alleged that she was taken to a hotel and there was lift, but there was no such residential hotel with lift.
Police were investigating into the matter and trying to confirm place of occurrence, he added.
