The verdict in the war crimes case against Forkan Mallik will be delivered any day.
The International Crimes Tribunal 2 kept the case waiting for verdict on Sunday afternoon.
Forkan is facing five charges of crimes against humanity he had committed during the war in Mirzaganj in Pirojpur.
Abdul Hamid of Shoulabunia of Mirzaganj upazila of Patuakhali lodged a case against Forkan with Mirzaganj police station on July 21, 2009.
After investigating the case primarily, police sent it to Patuakhali district and session judge’s court. After accepting the case, the court issued an arrest warrant against Forkan in 2013.
Police arrested him from Rupatali bus stand area of Barisal on June 25, 2014.
Tribunal 2 ordered the inspector general of prisons (IG Prisons) on July 3 to produce the war crime accused before it.
On October 27, the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal finalised two reports against Forkan Mollik, a razakar commander from Mirzaganj of Patuakhali.
