Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes in all divisions, including Dhaka of the country in 24 hours commencing 9am on Sunday.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions,” said a met office update.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, according to the BMD.
A trough of low lies over West Bengal to North Bay across Southwestern part of Bangladesh. Southwest monsoon has advanced up to Cox's Bazar coast of Bangladesh and conditions are favourable for further advancement.
A low pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining area around on Tuesday.
