Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque has said 90% of Boro paddies in haor areas have been already harvested in the fields by farmers, and the remaining 10% will be harvested within this week.
He made the disclosure while exchanging views with journalist during an online briefing from the ministry on Tuesday.
The minister also said in total, 25% of Boro cultivation in the country has already been harvested and the country’s entire yield will be harvested by the month of June, said a press release.
Mentioning that some 350,500 farmers were now engaged to harvest paddy in Haor areas, the minister also said the government has taken steps to ensure that farmers get fair price for their yields.
