The first accident occurred in the Panchabatti area of the Dhaka-Khulna highway.

The deceased were identified as Omar Mir, 75, a freedom fighter and Jahid Molla, 50, both residents of the area.

Locals said Omar and Jahid were walking along the highway when a bus hit them, leaving both critically injured. Omar was rushed to Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead. Jahid died at the scene.

In another accident on the same highway early Sunday, a human hauler driver was killed after an unidentified bus rammed the vehicle in the Fokra bus stand area of Kashiani around 4am.

The impact crushed the human haular, killing the driver on the spot.
