A Bangladeshi man was killed early on Tuesday after India's Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on a group of cattle traders at Satkhira's Kushkhali crossing area.
The deceased was named as Md Moslem Uddin, 32, son of Johar Ali, a resident of Panchroki village in sadar upazila.
Bashhad Union Chairman Mosharraf Hossain said Moslem was killed at around 4:30am.
“Moslem died on the spot after a BSF Amudia camp patrol fired at a group of cattle traders who were going back to Bangladesh with cattle."
The BSF detained another Bangladeshi, whose identity could not be confirmed yet.
BGB 38 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Arman Hossain said: “We will hold a flag meeting with BSF to confirm the deceased’s identity.”
