Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed met President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday when he broke the news to him at Bangabhaban, reports UNB.
The Navy chief informed the president that the construction of the submarines has been completed and will arrive in Bangladesh by this year.
President's press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
Admiral Nizamuddin also informed the President that the construction of a frigate is also underway.
He invited Abdul Hamid to join the conferment ceremony at BNS Base Issa Khan of Bangladesh Navy in Chittagong on November 8.
The president asked the navy to actively protect the country’s marine resources.
