Wild elephants kill 3 in Sherpur

The deceased are Ahetonnesa, 40, wife of Sunnat Ali, Kala Johur, 55, son of Samiul Haque of Panbor village and Abdul Hye, 42, son of Shah Mahmud of Gurucharan Dhudnoi village of the upazila. Jhenaigati Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Selim Reza confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune. He said: “A herd of elephants came down to crop field adjacent to border on Thursday night. “The elephants attacked the people when they tried to stop the elephants from destroying the crops, leaving three people dead on the spot.”
