The deceased is Arafat Sajal, 22, son of one Ummat Mia.
Birulia police outpost In-Charge SI Tariqul said: “We recovered Sajal’s body from Turag River on Thursday morning.
“A local named Roki called Sajal over the phone and asked him to meet at Kakabar Chowdhury Tek on Monday night. He did not return home after that night.”
Following the matter, angry locals handed over Roki to the police next morning.
The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the SI added.
Police suspects the murder might have taken place over previous enmity.
