The government has been investigating whether any Jamaat-e-Islami leader or war criminal was allotted Rajuk plots when the BNP was in office, Housing and Public Works Minister Mosharraf Hossain has said.
He said his ministry had been examining the plot allocation.
The BNP was in office in 1991-1996 and again in 2001-2006. Rajuk allotted a plot to executed war criminal and former Jamaat chief Motiur Rahman Nizami in 2006.
“We will take action after investigating whether any Rajuk plot was allotted to any Jamaat leader or war criminal,” Mosharraf said on Wednesday, replying to a question from a reporter.
Replying to another query, he said plots and flats in Keraniganj Model Town Residential Project area will be kept for the 10th Parliament MPs who do not have any plots or flats in Dhaka.
