Additional Inspector General (Additional IGP) of police Faruk Ahmed on Tuesday took charge as the chief of Highway Police.
According to a press release issued by Police Headquarters, Faruk Ahmed was born on July 29, 1971 in Bogura district.
He graduated in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) and joined Bangladesh Police as an assistant superintendent of police (ASP) on February 22, 1998 through the 17th Bangladesh Civil Service (Police) cadre. Localbusiness directory
Faruk Ahmed was promoted to the rank of additional IGP on June 4 this year.
During his career, he has participated in various professional training programmes, seminars and experience-sharing initiatives at both national and international levels, the release said.
