The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has reduced gold prices by Tk5,482 per bhori following a decline in local pure gold prices.
As a result, the price of 22-carat gold has fallen to Tk225,290 per bhori, effective from 10am on Wednesday.
Under the new rates, 21-carat gold will sell for Tk215,142 per bhori, 18-carat gold for Tk184,758, and traditional gold for Tk150,932.
Bajus also lowered silver prices by Tk408 per bhori. The price of 22-carat silver has been set at Tk4,841 per bhori.
The latest revision comes just two days after Bajus increased gold prices. So far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 80 times amid continued market volatility.
