Petrol, octane, kerosene prices rise; diesel remains unchanged

Petrol, octane and kerosene rise Tk5 per litre; diesel unchanged as new rates take effect under monthly pricing system

The government has set new fuel prices in the domestic market in line with changes in global fuel oil prices. Under the new rates, the price of diesel remains unchanged, while the prices of octane, petrol, and kerosene have increased by Tk5 per liter each.

The Fuel and Mineral Resources Division announced the new prices on Sunday, effective from 12am Monday.

According to the revised rates, Diesel, Tk115 per liter; Octane, Tk145 per liter; Petrol, Tk140 per liter; Kerosene, Tk135 per liter.

Earlier, on April 18, the price of octane was increased by Tk20 to Tk140 per liter, petrol by Tk19 to Tk135 per liter, diesel by Tk15 to Tk115 per liter, and kerosene by Tk18 to Tk130 per liter, the price of diesel remains unchanged at Tk 115 per liter. However, prices remained unchanged during May.

The Fuel Division said fuel prices are adjusted monthly under an automatic pricing system to reflect changes in global oil prices, and the new rates have been set for June.
