Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu fell ill shortly after arriving at Saidpur Airport on a flight from Dhaka, while en route to Lalmonirhat for a two-day visit.

He was immediately taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at Saidpur Cantonment, where he received primary treatment. Attending physicians later recommended to shift him to Dhaka by air ambulance for advanced medical care.

Saidpur BNP leader Abdur Gafur Sarkar confirmed the matter on Saturday afternoon.

According to him, after landing in the morning, Dulu went to the airport’s restroom and was holding discussions with party leaders and activists when he suddenly felt dizzy and became unwell.

“Following advice from doctors and party members, preparations were initially made to send him back to Dhaka on a regular flight scheduled for around 12:10 pm. However, as his condition did not improve, he was unable to board the plane,” Sarkar said.

He added that a decision was later taken to transfer him to Dhaka by air ambulance at around 1:30 pm.
