Former Jubo Dal leader Moshiur Rahman Mamun has filed a complaint with the International Crimes Tribunal prosecution against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 21 others, alleging his enforced disappearance.

Mamun submitted the complaint on Monday to the tribunal’s Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam.

Among those named is former Director General of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) Lieutenant General (Retd.) Sheikh Mamun Khaled. The identities of the remaining accused have not been disclosed.

Speaking to reporters, Mamun claimed he was disappeared on February 23, 2015, while traveling from Hazrat Shahjalal international airport to Bangkok. He alleged that plainclothes police took him into custody, keeping him handcuffed and blindfolded for six months before transferring him to DB custody on August 23 of the same year. He was subsequently remanded by the court for two separate periods and spent nearly two years in Dhaka Central Jail before being released on bail by the High Court.

“I endured six months of inhumane torture. I am unable to walk properly now. Once, I used to run five miles every day and play sports. Now, I am dependent on others. I have to stay in London for medical treatment due to long-term health issues,” Mamun said.

Regarding the nondisclosure of names, he added, “For the sake of investigation, I cannot reveal the names of the accused yet. Some have already fled the country, and those who remain may also escape if names are made public.”

Mamun, now active in BNP politics, began his political career with the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal in 1985 and was a member of BNP’s Central Election Monitoring Cell in 2001.
