Reports circulating in various media claiming that the Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will address the nation on Friday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr have been dismissed as incorrect by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Press Wing described the reports as completely “baseless.”
Deputy press secretary Md Zahidul Islam Rony confirmed the matter to journalists in the afternoon, stating that no decision has yet been made regarding any address by the Prime Minister.
He added that confusion had arisen in some quarters over the issue and urged the public not to be misled by such reports.
