Gold prices in the domestic market have fallen again.
Under the new decision, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori has been cut by Tk3,266, fixing the new rate at Tk255,558.
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) disclosed the information in a press release on Wednesday.
The new prices took effect from 9:30am today.
According to Bajus, the price of tejabi (pure) gold in the local market has declined. Considering the overall situation, gold prices have been revised.
Newly fixed gold prices
Under the new rates, the price of gold per bhori (11.664 grams) is:
- 22 carat: Tk255,558
- 21 carat: Tk243,953
- 18 carat: Tk209,077
- Traditional method: Tk171,111
The press release also said that, in addition to the fixed price, a government-set 5% VAT and a minimum 6% making charge set by Bajus will be added. However, making charges may vary depending on the design and quality of jewellery.
Gold prices were last adjusted on Tuesday morning, when the price of 22-carat gold per bhori stood at Tk258,824. Within one day, the price has been reduced by Tk3,266 per bhori.
