In a seat-sharing arrangement in the Comilla-4 (Debidwar) constituency, Jamaat candidate Saiful Islam Shahid has withdrawn from the race in favour of Hasnat Abdullah.
Shahid disclosed the decision on Sunday night through a post on his verified Facebook account.
The Jamaat candidate said: “Alhamdulillah, in compliance with the organisation’s central decision, I have withdrawn myself from the election. May Allah grant the ability to remain steadfast on the path of establishing the faith for a lifetime.”
