An angry mob set fire to The Daily Star building in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka, early Friday morning.
The attack occurred after news of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Osman Hadi’s death spread.
Six firefighting units brought the blaze under control at 1:40am.
Several staff members, including journalists, were trapped inside the building during the incident.
Members of the Bangladesh Army were seen securing the area while the mob positioned themselves across from the building.
