Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain on Wednesday said women should be included in the development process because the country cannot march forward leaving them behind.
“Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) brought social changes and governed the state along with Hazrat Khadija (RA) and Hazrat Ayesha (RA),” he said while addressing the "Hifzul Qur’an Award 2025" ceremony at Shaheed Abu Sayeed International Convention Center in Dhaka's Shahbagh area.
“Women were even seen on the battlefield. If we are able to educate our mothers, sisters, and daughters as Hafezas, Alimas, Muhaddithas, doctors, technologists and scientists, they will be able to play significant roles in the society and the state,” he said.
The adviser further said: “We dream of a new day, there will be no more division, we must move forward together. The Nibras Madrasah can serve as a milestone in fulfilling the dream of a welfare state based on Islamic ideals”.
Calling for treating people with respect, Dr Khalid said: “If I do not respect someone, I cannot expect respect from them. If I throw a stone, I must be prepared to be hit back.”
He urged everyone to refrain from backbiting, gossip and slander.
Presided over by the chairman of the madrasah management committee Principal Maulana Muhammad Zainul Abedin, Allama Sayyid Anowar Hossain Taher Ahmadi Jaber? Al-Madani, Khatib of the Andarkilla Shahi Jame Mosque in Chittagong, was present as the keynote speaker.
