An anonymous bomb threat against Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG373 to Kathmandu prompted an emergency response at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday afternoon.

The Boeing 737-800, carrying 142 passengers and seven crew members, was taxiing for departure at 4:26pm when the threat was received.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) said in a statement on Friday that emergency procedures were immediately activated on the directive of its chairman.

According to CAAB, a security cordon was quickly established by the Air Force task force and airport aviation security.

Bomb disposal units from the Bangladesh Air Force and RAB, along with the APBn dog squad, conducted a thorough search of the aircraft and its baggage, it said.

All passengers were safely evacuated and sent to the terminal lounge following security screening.

No explosives were found onboard, the aviation authority confirmed.

Airport operations continued normally, and authorities confirmed the situation remained under control.
