A platform named Shamrajjobadbirodhi Deshpremik Jonogon (Anti-Imperialist Patriotic People) has launched a road march from Dhaka to Chittagong, demanding the protection of national resources and sovereignty.
The two-day road march began at 10am on Friday in front of the National Press Club.
From the march, they called for the cancellation of plans to hand over the management of Chittagong Port to foreign entities, to halt the initiative to involve Bangladesh in "imperialist war alliances" through Starlink and economic corridors and to disclose all agreements signed with hegemonic states during previous governments—annulling those that contradict national interests.
According to reports, the march will travel from Dhaka and hold rallies at various locations, concluding on Saturday at the Chittagong Customs House.
On the first day, participants will hold a brief rally at Sonargaon in Narayanganj after departing from the Press Club, followed by a rally on the Comilla Town Hall grounds at 5pm.
On the second day, a rally will be held at Feni’s Central Shaheed Minar at 9am, then proceed to Mirsharai for a brief gathering and finally end with a concluding rally at the Chittagong Customs House at 5pm.
Prior to the march, a brief rally was held in front of the National Press Club.

At the event, Ruhin Hossain Prince, general secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), presented the four demands of the road march: the management of Chittagong Port, including New Mooring, must not be handed over to foreigners and should remain under state administration; the conspiracy to grant corridors through Rakhine must be stopped; all attempts to involve Bangladesh in imperialist war alliances through Starlink, arms factories and corridors must cease; and all agreements signed with imperialist and hegemonic states—including the United States and India—by the Awami “fascist” government and previous regimes must be made public, and unequal agreements harmful to national interest must be annulled.
Prince said: “We will conclude our peaceful road march with a historic rally at Chittagong Port tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon. Chittagong Port is a vital national asset—the heart of our economy. We hope the interim government will withdraw from its attempt to lease out the port, continuing the path of previous administrations. If they fail to do so, we will announce broader protest programs from tomorrow’s concluding rally.”
He also said that Prof Serajul Islam Choudhury and Prof Anu Muhammad have expressed solidarity with the road march program.
