South Korean group BTS concluded the North America leg of its “Arirang” world tour with four shows at SoFi Stadium on September 1, 2, 5 and 6, drawing a combined crowd of approximately 282,000.
The North America leg ran across 12 cities, comprising 31 concerts, all of which sold out in advance. Total attendance across the leg reached approximately 1.92 million.
The tour opened in Tampa, Florida, and closed in Los Angeles.
With the SoFi Stadium shows, BTS has now performed 8 concerts at the venue since 2021, including 4 dates from its “Permission to Dance on Stage” tour that year. The group holds the record for the most concerts by any act at SoFi Stadium, with cumulative attendance across those 8 shows reaching approximately 496,000 — also a venue record.
Several city and state governments issued formal recognitions during the tour. Los Angeles declared “BTS Week” from September 1 to 8. Toronto marked “BTS Weekend” on August 22 and 23, temporarily renaming a stretch of Yonge Street “BTS Boulevard.”
Illinois designated August 27 and 28 as “BTS Day in Illinois” to coincide with the group’s Chicago concerts. El Paso, Texas, held “El Paso BTS Weekend” on May 2 and 3, and awarded the group its “Estimado Amigo” honor in recognition of its contribution to the city’s tourism and international profile.
Maryland Governor Wes Moore also welcomed the group in a video message, saying the seven-member act brings people together across culture, geography and language.
In Mexico City, President Claudia Sheinbaum hosted BTS at the National Palace during the group’s concert stop there. Approximately 50,000 fans gathered outside the palace to greet the group.
At the Los Angeles shows, fans marked the birthdays of members Jungkook and RM, born September 1 and September 12 respectively, singing birthday songs during the concerts. The stadium was lit in gold and blue, colors chosen to match Jungkook’s solo album “Golden” and RM’s “Indigo.”
At the final show, member J-Hope said the tour’s opening night in Tampa felt as though it had happened only recently, adding that the group had long anticipated returning to North America and that the time had passed quickly.
BTS will next perform in South America, opening with concerts in Bogota, Colombia, on October 2 and 3. The tour continues to Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo. The stops in Colombia, Peru and Argentina will mark the group’s first full-lineup concerts in those countries
