A total of 47,212 Bangladeshi pilgrims have returned home after performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia
As of Sunday, a total of 5,006 pilgrims returned under government management, while 42,206 came back through private arrangements, according to the latest Hajj bulletin.
Three airlines were involved in transporting the pilgrims. Biman Bangladesh Airlines carried 19,013, Saudia Airlines transported 19,758, and Flynas Airlines brought back 8,441 pilgrims.
So far, 120 return Hajj flights have been operated — 48 by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 50 by Saudia, and 22 by Flynas.
Meanwhile, 38 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died during the Hajj in Saudi Arabia — 27 men and 11 women, the bulletin confirmed.
This year, a total of 87,157 Bangladeshis travelled to Saudi Arabia for Hajj.
The first flight departed on April 29, and the last on May 31. The Hajj took place on June 5, while return flights are scheduled to continue until July 10.
