A total of 59 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the past 24 hours till Friday morning.
"During the period, 35 patients were hospitalized in Barisal division, six in Chittagong, one in Dhaka division, one in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 16 were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC)," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
The total number of cases rose to 4,904, while 23 deaths from dengue have been reported this year.
Meanwhile, 53 dengue patients were released from different hospitals in the last 24 hours.
Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from dengue were reported, the statement added.
