River ports have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number one as rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds are likely to occur in different parts of the country.
The warning for inland river ports will remain valid till 6pm on Thursday, according to a bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary south or south-easterly gusty or squally wind with speeds of 45–60kph are likely to occur over the regions of Mymensingh, Faridpur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet. River ports in these areas shall hoist cautionary signal number one,” the bulletin added.
