After two consecutive price cuts, gold prices in Bangladesh have seen an increase again.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) announced on Tuesday that the adjustment followed a hike in the international price of pure gold.
The revised rates will take effect nationwide on Wednesday.
The new gold prices per bhori (11.664g) are as follows: 22-carat Tk1,69,896, 21-carat Tk1,62,382, 18-carat Tk1,39,602 and gold acquired through the traditional method Tk1,08,696.
The previous gold price cut announcement came on May 12, when Bajus set the 22-carat rate at Tk1,67,680 per bhori. Before that, another reduction had been made on May 10.
