The main Jamaat of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at 8:30am at the National Eidgah in the capital.
If the weather is unfavorable, the main congregation will be at 9am at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
A press release from the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Friday stated that if the Eid congregation's schedule changes, it will be widely broadcast on electronic media.
Additionally, the ministry has instructed Dhaka South City Corporation, the Press Information Department (PID), Bangladesh Television, and Bangladesh Betar to arrange for the broadcast of Eid congregation schedules of prominent mosques in Dhaka city, as well as the schedules of the main Eid congregations in larger districts, through various mass media, including Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television.
A committee, comprising representatives from the Cabinet Division, Islamic Foundation, SSF, DMP Commissioner, Meteorological Department, SPARSO, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting—chaired by the divisional commissioner of Dhaka—will be formed to make an immediate decision on shifting the main Eid congregation to Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in case of inclement weather.
The committee will take measures to relocate the Eid congregation to the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at any time before the scheduled congregation due to unfavorable weather conditions.
The Islamic Foundation or district administration will collect the schedules of Eid congregations at prominent mosques in Dhaka city and the main congregations in larger districts and disseminate them to all channels, including Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television, before Eid.
Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival for Muslims, will be observed on March 31 or April 1, depending on the sighting of the moon.
