Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus extended his greetings to the Muslim Ummah worldwide, as well as to the people of Bangladesh, on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Qadr, or Lailatul Qadr, which will be observed on Thursday night.
"Lailatul Qadr is a blessed and glorious night. On this night of the holy month of Ramadan, the Holy Quran, the guide for mankind, was revealed to the world," he said in a message on Thursday.
"The Almighty Allah has declared in the Holy Quran, 'surely, we have revealed it (the Quran) on the night of Qadr,'" the chief adviser said.
Yunus further emphasized that the night of Lailatul Qadr is better than a thousand months and that worship during this night is more rewarding than the worship of a thousand months.
"The infinite mercy and blessings of the Almighty Allah are showered upon us on this night. Through worship and devotion, we can draw closer to Allah and attain His infinite mercy, blessings, and forgiveness," he said.
He prayed to Allah to grant everyone the ability to dedicate themselves to human welfare and nation-building while avoiding all forms of injustice, lawlessness, violence, and superstition on this glorious night.
"On this holy night, I pray to the Almighty Allah for forgiveness, continuous progress, peace, prosperity, and the welfare of our beloved motherland and the Muslim Ummah," he added.
"May the Almighty Allah help us. Ameen," said the chief adviser.
