Reception held for injured fighters, families of deceased from July uprising

He praised the fighters as the nation’s pride

Bangladesh Army organized a reception ceremony at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment on Tuesday to honour the injured fighters and families of the deceased from the July uprising.

A total of 72 injured fighters and family members of the deceased, along with senior officials, attended the event.

At the reception, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman addressed the invited guests.

In his speech, he described the July uprising as a landmark event in Bangladesh’s history and recognized the participating fighters as the pride of the nation. He emphasized that the youth not only took part in the movement but also set an example of how to demand justice and truth in the right way.

He further said that the Bangladesh Army has always stood by the fighters of the July uprising in fulfilling their dreams.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the army, saying: "In war, in peace, we are always for the nation," and assured that the Bangladesh Army will continue to serve the country as it has in the past.

The Army chief expressed his strong hope that if everyone works together with patriotism, nationalism, honesty, humanity, and discipline, the country will achieve prosperity and emerge as a happy and developed nation.

He urged all to unite in fulfilling this vision.

During the event, the Bangladesh Army provided financial assistance to the families of the injured and deceased fighters of the July uprising.
