The Cabinet Division announced in a press release on Tuesday that the Independence Award (posthumous) given to late president Ziaur Rahman in 2003 remains valid.
"As the Supreme Court ruling, based on which the government revoked the Independence Award (posthumous) given to martyred president Ziaur Rahman in 2016, did not contain any directive to cancel his award, and considering his outstanding contribution to the great Liberation War, the government has reversed its decision to revoke his Independence Award," the press release stated.
