The Cabinet Division has formed six committees to ensure the smooth organization of the new president’s swearing-in ceremony, according to an office order issued on Sunday.
The order said the Bangladesh Election Commission announced the schedule for the presidential election on August 6. Following the presidential election, and subject to the prime minister’s approval, the swearing-in ceremony will be held on the designated day, date, time and place.
The committees were formed to conduct the ceremony smoothly and with due dignity.
The committees include the Coordination Committee, led by Farah Shammi, secretary, Coordination and Reform, Cabinet Division.
The Documentation and Record Preservation Committee and Guest List Preparation and Invitation Card Printing Committee will be led by Additional Secretary Mohammad Shamim Sohel, Administration and Rules Wing.
The Invitation Card Distribution and Receipt Verification Committee will be led by Additional Secretary Mohammad Khaled Hasan, Coordination Wing.
The Seating Management Committee will be led by Additional Secretary Md Humayun Kabir, Committee and Economic Wing.
The Reception Committee will be led by Additional Secretary Yasmin Begum, Law Wing.
The committees may include officers and employees as necessary. After receiving the letter, the committees will promptly convene meetings and adopt work plans.
The office order said the conveners of the subcommittees will regularly inform the Secretary, Coordination and Reform, Cabinet Division, about their activities and receive necessary instructions.
