BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's physician and BNP Standing Committee member, Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, said she may return to Bangladesh soon as her physical condition is stable.
"Doctors visit her regularly at home and are closely monitoring her health," he said.
He made these comments while speaking to journalists after the meeting and Iftar gathering organized by Zia Parishad, UK, in London on Monday.
He also highlighted that, in addition to physical treatment, Begum Zia's mental health has greatly improved after being with her family members after nearly seven years.
"Her mental peace is positively impacting her physical health," he added.
Dr Zahid further said: "I wouldn’t say Khaleda Zia has fully recovered, but she is much better now than before."
Begum Zia is currently receiving treatment at her son Tarique Rahman’s residence.
