A command centre dedicated to intensively monitoring the country’s law and order is beginning operations on Sunday evening, according to Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
"Operation Devil Hunt launched yesterday (Saturday), and the command centre, which will coordinate the efforts of law enforcement agencies, is going to start its operations at 6pm today," he said during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy.
Shafiqul mentioned that members of various law enforcement agencies, along with representatives from the armed forces, will be stationed at the command centre.
"We expect that with the establishment of this centre, law and order will improve, allowing for quicker responses to any potential threats," he added.
On Monday, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus called for the creation of the command centre to intensively monitor the country’s law and order.
This directive came during a high-level meeting reviewing the nation’s security, which included the heads of law enforcement agencies.
"We must establish a command centre or headquarters that will coordinate with the police and all security agencies," said Yunus.
"This new command structure will ensure effective and intensive communication with all security agencies and police stations nationwide," he added.
