Update : 08 Feb 2025, 07:50 PM

Adviser for Industries and Housing and Public Works Adilur Rahman Khan has said that Bangladesh is now looking at the youth and new days.

"The achievements and devotion of today's graduates will inspire the general people of the country, who are looking at you. The graduates present at today's convocation will surely play a vital role in realizing the rights of the working people of Bangladesh," he said.

The Adviser made the remarks while addressing the second convocation of the BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) as the chief guest on behalf of the Chancellor at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center at Purbachal on the outskirt of the capital, according to a press release.

Youngone Corporation Chairman Kihak Sung addressed the convocation as the convocation speaker.

Paying tribute to the memories of the martyred students of the July uprising and BUFT student Shaheed Selim Talukder, Adilur Rahman said Bangladesh changed in July.

"After August 5, it is a new Bangladesh because of the youth. The young generations of Bangladesh have shown the way how a new Bangladesh will be built. Today's students are the guide to that path. Bangladesh will never go back to its previous place," he added.

He urged the newly graduated students to be grown up as the guide of the country.

Adilur hoped that they would work as vanguards to take Bangladesh forward and brighten the image of the country.

BUFT Board of Trustees Chairman Faruque Hassan and acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Engineer Ayub Nabi Khan spoke at the function, among others.

A total of 2,731 were provided graduation degrees while 328 were given the post-graduation degree through the convocation.
