Mahmudur Rahman Manna, the president of Nagorik Oikya on Wednesday said that many have sacrificed their lives for the right to cast their vote.

"Voting is a priceless asset. To exercise your voting rights, you must take action. To change the country, we need political parties. Do not vote for thieves, bandits, or vote thieves," he said.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at a youth rally held at "Shaheed Mir Mugdho Square" in Shibganj, Bogra.

Mahmudur Rahman Manna said: "Those who have killed ordinary people like Abu Sayed and Mugdho, will be brought to justice. Those who have abducted, created secret cells, and caused harm to people in order to suppress movements will face justice."

He added: "The situation of thieves and police, bandits and police will not continue. Police officers are involved in extorting people by filing false cases, and police work is based on those cases. If the government is bad, then all government officials will be corrupt."

Criticizing former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Mahmudur Rahman Manna said: "Under the fascist government's rule, there was looting, killings, and abductions, with bodies buried underground. She looted thousands of crores of taka and sent it abroad. The votes were counted at night, and only the names of their winning candidates were announced in the afternoon. It’s time to build a new Bangladesh."
