The convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Hasnat Abdullah, has claimed that the report by the international news agency AFP regarding the termination of five journalists from Somoy Television is not true.
He said: “We did not provide a list of journalists to the owners of Somoy TV for termination. Nor did we demand shares in the television channel. However, AFP portrayed the incident as if the students forced the owners to dismiss the journalists, which is completely untrue.”
On Wednesday, Hasnat Abdullah clarified his and his organization’s stance on the termination of the journalists in a status posted on his verified Facebook account.
