Heavy traffic congestion has been reported ahead of the “Echoes of Revolution” concert, set to take place at the Bangladesh Army Stadium on Saturday, as fans eagerly await a performance by the renowned Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
Crowds have started arriving from different parts of the capital, gathering around the venue.
Law enforcement agencies have ramped up surveillance at the concert’s entry points, leading to significant slowdowns on roads in and out of Dhaka.
Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) issued special traffic instructions ahead of the concert.
The traffic guidelines, effective from 2pm to 11pm on Saturday, aim to ensure smooth completion of the event, according to a public notice signed by the DMP Commissioner Sajjat Ali.
The charity concert is being held in support of the families of martyrs and injured individuals from the July-August student movement.
The organizers have announced that all proceeds from the concert will be donated to the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, a welfare organization working for the martyrs and injured.
